Our stay was simply phenomenal! The breathtaking views from our Japanese-Style Standard Room allowed us to witness mesmerizing sunrises over Matsushima Bay. Soaking in the private onsen while enjoying the sunset was an experience I’ll never forget. Plus, each breakfast was a delicious multi-tier presentation that was almost too beautiful to eat. One thing to keep in mind is to reserve evening dining well in advance.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Komatsu-Kan Kofu-Tei! The stunning views of Matsushima Bay from my Japanese-Style Standard Room were simply breathtaking, especially at sunrise. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, making my experience feel warm and inviting.

Limited onsen supplies compared to other places, and breakfast lacked western options, which could disappoint travelers looking for variety. The hotel is a bit far from train stations, and the shuttle service only starts at 9 AM, making early departures tricky.

Unfortunately, the on-site dining options were limited in the evening, making it necessary to plan ahead or have dinner at the ryokan.

Staying in the Japanese-Style Standard Room was a dream! The large space was so comfy. I loved the tatami mats and the traditional futon beds. The view of Matsushima Bay was just stunning, especially at sunrise. Plus, having a private onsen to soak in while looking out at the water was incredible. Really enjoyed the little touches like homemade snacks and tea. Just wish the entrance was a bit easier to navigate!

Each meal was a delightful, mouthwatering marvel filled with local flavors, and the private onsen bath overlooking the bay was the cherry on top of our beautiful stay.

This place suits me perfectly with free Wi-Fi in rooms, a lovely bar/lounge area, and 24-hour security. On my first stay, the staff kindly helped me with late departure, which I still remember. I highly recommend enjoying the private onsen! I'm definitely coming back for a holiday.
